Overgrown Garden

midterm project, 5’x7’ tactile tapestry. constructed from hand dyed fabric and majority recycled components. techniques: quilting, shibori, applique, hand stitching, hand painting, crochet. based on the song “Overgrown Garden” by Beetlebug. influenced by cut & sew storybooks and immersive art installations. Made to be touched, with moveable vines, crocheted flowers, and scrap-stuffed leaves dangling.

final project, flannel Kinsale cloak lined with china silk, with navy leather undercollar and printcloth applique. constructed from hand dyed fabric and lasercut applique. techniques: MX dye, lasercut, pattern-reading, mockup, machine & hand stitching, garment construction, applique. created as a gift for a friend in my Dungeons & Dragons campaign, whose character is a Favored Soul of the god Pelor. Made as both a character garment and personal one, with elements of characterization and receiver taste kept in mind.
